  • Hi DanyDan, My bad, I looked and I have no exclusion in bitdefender for Java, or for anything else. I found what I actually did was in Windows Firewall, there is an exclusion tab that has Java listed.

I'm sure there is another way to check, but if you go to the uninstall programs option in the control panel and locate Java, it will list as Java 6 update 24 (64) if you have the 64 bit version installed.   • I'm almost embarrased to say I solved my issue... turns out I had Jave 32bit installed on my 64bit computer.... uninstalled 32bit and installed 64bit with DanyDan's link and now minecraft works perfectly.
