I switched to the settings in http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=33642 and rebooted. Now it works with the firewall on. When I rebooted and got back to my desktop I still had that blank Bitdefender window open. I'm not sure why it appears still.

I have this same issue. I have read this thread and am running the support tool to create a log as I type this, I will PM you Christian. Thanks for looking into this.

So all I should do Is reset a couple times and see if that fixes it? From what I read in the other topic there is a file that can only be updated when windows is starting up. Well here I go to try this. Hope it works.
