I've used their uninstall tools before, but they still usually leave a few folders, files, and/or registry entries behind. Anyway, I don't think it's actually a Norton leftover causing the problem; just maybe some Office files that the now thankfully-departed Norton corrupted.

I used jvPowertools to remove every reference to Symantec and Norton from the registry, so I thought that might be enough. Actually, I was surprised at how few references there were (~10) compared with older versions which would leave up to a couple hundred. However, the fact that I found so little with Google on BD…
