  • This was, to put it mildly, an epic fail. I followed your workaround, Christian, on not one but TWO Win7 64-bit machines*. Partly because if it worked, why not, and partly because this way I would have two test subjects (in case it worked on one and not the other). Sadly, it worked on neither. Not only did it not work, it…
  • Has anyone tested the proposed workaround solution yet? As the original poster I should do it, but I'm on an extended business trip and unable to test this on my home computer. Thanks!
  • I am having same problem, not sure if Firefox or Bitdefender issue. Possibly Firefox because BIS2013 was working fine with Firefox 13.0.X.
  • I submitted a support ticket too. No response as of yet.
  • Christian (and others), adding exclusions did not work for me either. Is this only happening with Diablo 3? I can imagine that this could be happening with other Blizzard games which use a launcher - such as World of Warcraft. I added exclusions to the firewall and antivirus modules. I have attached images of the processes…
  • I have tried the solution suggested HERE, and it did not remedy the issue. Any thoughts, Christian?
  • Let me also point out that I had no issues running games/game launcher with BIS2012, so it is something unique to the 2013 product.
  • My bro Columbo...thanks!!! Clicking the "default" button did the trick.
  • This issue is resolved (at least for me) Thank you, Christian, for your follow-up on this item. I followed your steps to change the update address/location. I do have one more question...should I now change the update address back to what it was previously??? If so, what was the previous address? Will future, routine…
  • Thank you all for you input on this topic. I've been on holiday and unable to test the "fix". I can confirm that BIS2013 is still not allowing iTunes to connect (access iTunes store, updating applications, updating podcasts, etc.). The reason for this is that BIS2013 is not updating to build *.1349; my product remains on…
  • Thank you all for your feedback on this item. I will check to see if this solution works for me too. Hard to believe BIS2013 would have an issue out of the box with iTunes. It's not like this is some obscure software. Question: Will this solution inhibit using parental controls in the future?
  • i opened itunes and it just sits at accessing itunes store, nothing else?just tried on win 7 32 Thank you for the response, Bri. So it appears that you are unable to access the iTunes store as well? Are you able to update podcasts - if you subscribe to any? Opening iTunes results in it just continuing to try to "access"…
  • I should add that I am using Windows 7 64-bit. Also, the very latest version of iTunes. Finally, I was able to determine that my last successful contact with iTunes store was 2 hours before updating BIS to version 2013.
  • I think all you have to do to check is go to: C: > Program Files. If you see Bit Defender folder in there, it should be 64-bit version. I could be be wrong, but that's how I usually check. Alternatively, you can open the Task Manager ([alt]+[ctrl]+[del]). 32-bit applications have a *32 next to their names.
  • Regarding the original topic of this thread, the bdtoolbar and it's functionality in Thunderbird, would it be beneficial to try out the Bitdefender 2013 Beta? Do we know if the bdtoolbar functions properly in the 2013 version?
  • Hi You are most welcome We are doing our best to solve this ASAP. Also, we are trying to implement also a new feature that was requested here on the forums: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=33589 Check it out and let me know if you find it useful. Have a great week! Yes, I think that would be useful. If I…
  • Thank you for the update on this item, Christian! It is appreciated. We look forward to having this issue fixed in the coming weeks.
  • Hi Christian. Has this item been escalated again? It seems that the bdtoolbar isn't yet fully functioning. Thanks!
  • Actually, after reading your post, I'm having much the same problems. I can click the buttons, but when I click the "Add Spammer", "Add Friend", "Spammers", and "Friends" buttons, nothing appears to happen. Anyone else still having issues with the bdtoolbar in Thunderbird?
  • First, please thank the Bitdefender folks (you too Christian) for addressing this item. Unfortunately, I cannot claim that the bdtoolbar is functioning perfectly. I am still having some issues. Here is what is working for me: 1) When I highlight a message, all bdtoolbar buttons become active and can be clicked on (see…
  • Hello Yes, we know, another week, another Firefox and Thunderbird release. Until Christmas it will be v.50 for both There won't by any issues related to the toolbar from Firefox. The TrafficLight toolbar is injecting in the process, no matter the version. For Thunderbird, we are doing our best to release the update soon.…
  • Hi Christian. Thank you for the brief update. We appreciate the work the team is doing to resolve this issue. I have a general question(s) about this issue: Is the "Configure Spammers List" in the Antispam module of the working correctly? What I mean is, as you know the bdtoolbar in Thunderbird isn't allowing us to add…
  • Gene, it sounds like a number of us our having the same issue you describe: See this thread. Question for Gene: If you right click in the Thunderbird menu bar area do you see an option enable Bitdefender? If you are able to enable it, the bdtoolbar should appear. Please let us know if that works and if the bdtoolbar…
  • So I'm just curios as to which Operating System everyone else is using? I am also using Windows 7 64-bit. In addition, I'm using Thunderbird 10.0 (10.0.2, as of today's update ).
  • Same with me (@ golfe, I upgraded to the Suite). None of the toolbar options are functioning, and I get a ghost text of the Toolbar, even after I check B.D. The toolbar dose not stay when I close out of Thunderbird, and have to re-check it when I re-open Thunderbird. Mine is a POP enabled gmail account, so I think this…
  • With the newest BIS 2012 (15.0.36.1530) updated today, it appears that bdToolbar 7.0 is completely disabled (and hidden in the menu bar). After I made it visible and selected an email now, none of the buttons in bdToolbar became active (previously some of them became active). I assume this is the desired behavior while the…
  • So happy to have come across this post- have the same problem with my anti-spam toolbar and couldn't figure out the problem, but after reading this, I now know it's because I'm using IMAP server for my gmail account in Thunderbird. Thanks for all of your information! Yes, I knew I couldn't be the only one! The team is…
  • It is never advisable to run more than one antivirus program on a computer at one time. That is probably why your computer is running slow; it isn't Bitdefender's fault. Which program are you running in addition to Bitdefender?

  • Sounds great! Thanks again, Christian. I do have a few of questions: 1) Is the current BD Toolbar dependent on Thunderbird version? 2) When we get the toolbar working again (at least for me ), should Thunderbird's adaptive junk mail controls (under Junk Settings area in the account settings area) be enabled when using BD…
  • That is great to hear! Thank you Christian. I hope any changes the developers implement are version agnostic; Thunderbird 10 is being released tomorrow.
