I was lucky enough to disable real time protection immediately upon seeing the oddity that occurred. And thankfully, I had it set so that quarantined files do not get deleted. For the people who are affected, you have my condolences.

Herman, you need to chill. ANY & ALL antivirus software & antimalware tools can have a false positive! There's an option for all of them to allow the user to check the files to be sure first for a reason! yeah, if this was just some minor false positive issue, I would not be writing here. This is something far beyond that.…

As I stated before, why you guys set an app to auto delete anything is ridiculous. Why are you guys restarting anyways? now you are just annoying the **** out of me. Perhaps because some people trusted their antivirus, as they should? You cannot blame this situation on the affected users. This is clearly a major mistake on…

herman, I know it's not a minor issue. You forget, I started the thread so I have the same issue. But my posts about the updater stand. and how do you suppose updating will help the users who's computer has already been rendered unusable by bitdefender? Because bitdefender deleted the vital system files, some users cannot…

I have posted the link a few times already but it seems people are ignoring it. When BD labs issues a new update, they will most likely update their weekly update exe file for us to run. BD doesn't need to be running to use it. http://www.bitdefender.com/site/view/Deskt...ts-Updates.html your responses are rather inept for…

unless they appease us users somehow, BitDefender can expect a subpoena coming to them for a class action lawsuit.

Dude relax. F/Ps can happen with any & all antivirus applications. It'll be fixed soon enough. correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember there being a case where antivirus would delete essential windows related files and relegate everysingle running program as a trojan. or the biggest irony of all, categorize itself as…

Still running malwarebytes & nothing found. so can we safely presume that BitDefender, a program that we paid for to protect our computer, is deleting our computer to death bit by bit?
-
also windwos 7 64bit here.

this is ridiculous. We paid for a program to protect our computer, but it instead obliterates our system from the inside. Literally.

Hello all, Please provide the exact detection name and the file location. Also if possible please send me by PM a sample file. Cris. problem is, there is at least 50 files in quarantine that BitDefender relegated as a malware.

Since an Update it's telling me I've "FakeAlert.5" in mostly every file?! That's impossible. It's telling me that BitDefender's own .dlls and such are viruses. Along with numerous other essential files in system32 and syswow64. Update is definitely botched. Until its fixed, turn off your realtime protection to save your…
