  • it's become a hobby of mine to check back on the bit defender forum every few weeks just to see if this epic not responding thread will ever fall off the front page, but it never does. Here it is back on top of the front page once again. I can't wait for there 2011 version to come out and the first thread in that will be…

  • Have just read back through this complete thread, and it seems clear to me that there isn't going to be a solution to this problem. Somewhere deep inside BitDefender, there is some shoddy coding that lacks resilience, and it needs changing. Seems very little point blaming spyware and AV software from other companies for…
  • Unfortunately I have to agree with Kentix in that I can no longer recommend this program to any of my customers until this problem is finally fixed. I value my time and can't be spending it trying to diagnose there faulty software when there are even free programs out there they don't have this issue.
  • Well I see this post has reached 15k views and 176 posts and still no solution. It comes as no surprise though since this has been a known problem for 2 years! yes 2 years starting back with there 2009 version. you can go back to the 2009 product forums and see people complaining about this same issue. It is a waste of…
  • When it comes to the not responding issue. I have found that Bit Defender is super sensitive to any leftover registry entries left over from previous anti-virus programs. Every other AV I have had never has had this issue. There has to be absolutely nothing at all left over from your previous AV programs. I seriously mean…
  • Hmm I do not see anything in control panel on my windows xp In XP you would just need to go to add/remove programs in the control panel.
  • Ok I did the steps that you instructed me to do and it took care of the invalid key issue. The problem I have now is that it says the firewall is disabled and I cannot fix it. I click to enable the firewall and I get the error "Failed to communicate with the BitDefender Security Service" I first chose to repair and then…
  • Ok here is the link http://www.sendspace.com/file/le3okq I then went and repaired Bit Defender as you instructed. This is my secondary PC. I have very little programs and processes running on this computer. No other spyware/AV programs on it except malware bytes. It takes on average about 25 seconds to start up. In the the…
  • This is a super easy fix. Go to your control panel and then programs and features and find msxml 4.0 sp2 (kb936181) and remove it. Then download the update and you will be fine after that. I never had this problem until after installing bit defender for some reason.
