  • I tried the steps in the solution, and BitDefender has now indeed stopped scanning outgoing emails. It turns out that the way to stop scanning outgoing emails is not to uncheck the "scan outgoing emails" checkbox. It's actually to disable the automatic updates, then go into safe mode and disable the outgoing email scanner.…
  • PS - I should mention that I've been looking for a solution for this since 29th October on Ticket ID:200910221006399. I've had a number of replies to this, none that fixed the problem obviously.
