Thanks for the quick reply. I want to upgrade to 2010 anyways, so I will try that solution first. If by chance 2010 does not recognise my 2008 Quarantine, where can I download BD AV 2008? I can't find a link for it on your site. Thanks.

There is a bootable fix now. http://www.bitdefender.com/site/KnowledgeBase/consumer/#650 No idea why it isn't posted on the main site or in any articles.

Okay, so I finally gave in and ran the 2009 Patch even though I'm running 2008. All my quarantined files were restored (except for a few truely infected files that were quarantined a few weeks ago). I restarted my computer and everything seems to working normally - haven't tested all my programs yet, but I'll get around to…

Also, if anyone else has the Update Service Unavailable and BitDefender 2008 should try to use the patch for BtiDefender 2009. BD AV 2008 Vista x64 My BitDefender 2008 won't run at all. Should I try the 2009 Patch - are you sure this is safe? I've already run the 2010 Patch by mistake when there was no notice on the site…

The patch for 2009 is now available (both stand alone and via Update). Check /index.php?/topic/3822-bitdefender-and-counterspy/#comment-18868" rel="">this post for more information. Unfortunately I'm still waiting for the 2008 patch. PS. that link doesn't go to a relavent post, please fix your link. Perhase you meant this…

Well this thread seems to be dying off - guessing most people have solved their problems or formated by now. ###### for the few of us that still have problems. Still waiting for that 2008/2009 Patch.. any day now guys.

Sigh... still eagerly waiting for the 2008/2009 patch. There is no way that it should be taking this long for simple change in versions. I'm feeling very neglected right now.

@noisymonk @hep1: please download and use Windows Cleanup Utility as explained in this Microsoft article Make sure that you run the file as Administrator by right click on the file and select Run as Administrator. Please let me know if the patch can now be run. I assume that was directed at me aswell. I've downloaded and…

Hi again. Vista 64 BD AntiVirus 2008 So I just woke up and I've found the patch. Downloaded it and tried to install it (normal windows mode), but had the bdsubwiz.exe and numerous other 'unavailable' files when trying to install the patch. So I CTRL+ALT+DELETE and goto Processes and find several BD processes still running.…

If Windows starts in Normal mode on your computer, a patch will be released as soon as possible and you will be able to run it. It will restore the files from the BitDefender quarantine. Will this patch work in Safe Mode? Will this patch only work if we have access to the actual BD UI? Thanks.

Probably not going to get any help, but I'll try anyways. Obviously I have the same problem as everyone. Unfortunately I've already restarted my computer. Computer seemed to be working fine but was still getting the BD problem so I just turned off BD - and now I can't start it again because it quarantined itself. I also…
