Double click on your BD icon next to the computer clock. I assumed you can still access to you BD. Second drop down from the panel is "Antivirus" Shield Tab - uncheck Real Time protection. I updated using my bitdefender interface. The updated installed successfully , I don't think that a regular bitdefender update will return an windows installer error. Did you update using the "Update Now" button in BD? It tells me "no update available"
