Okay, but what about your windows 'seems' to be still working, but you can't launch BitDefender, and therefore grab the fix ? Uninstall BitDefender and find another AV app ASAP!

Agreed. I cannot even start BitDefender as it has been quarantined. Does the manual (weekly.exe) file fix this? Windows 7 repair worked for me. Even resotered Bitdefender.
