Quote https://otx.alienvault.com/indicator/ip/93.184.221.133/ Look at the first and last seen dates. 2011, or 6 years ago. I wouldn't base any decisions or worries based on a 6 year old security report. Quote https://www.virustotal.com/en/ip-address/93.184.221.133/information/ Doesn't look particularly suspicious. The…

And again. "Display special offers and product notification" is turned off and I get a popup saying I can upgrade to 2017. Send me an email if you must, but it would be great if these product notifications would go away.
-
Agree. I specifically got a 3 pack so I could give a copy to my mother and I got an email from her almost hysterical that she had some virus on her computer. Turned out it was just Bitdefender advertising to her even though we specifically turned off Display special offers and product notifications.

AcePuppy, I have /index.php?showtopic=68902&page=7#entry254331" rel="">already agreed in a previous post that this issue needs more attention, you don't need to argue that. I will still argue however that the option does not that important from a security standpoint. Your first paragraph is frankly confusing as I fail to…
-
I have to disagree with you AcePuppy about the security impact, the option doesn't actually really add any security in the majority of cases. Turning off block port scans is only a (marginal) security issue in the following circumstances: * You are directly connected to an unknown or hostile network, eg free WiFi, bridged…

There is a /index.php?showtopic=68902" rel="">known issue that can cause the entire computer to lag while certain network data is being transferred (such as streaming video). If you are experiencing this, turning off the "Block port scans in the network" option in the firewall module should instantly fix it If that doesn't…

I agree that Bitdefender has not done enough to inform the community of this issue. It should have been announced via the Bitdefender client popup or emails that issue exists. Imagine how many people may be affected that simply do not realize it could be Bitdefender, or have the expertise to track it down. However, I…

Hi Georgia, I have replied to the email with the required files, hopefully they will assist in troubleshooting the issue.
-
Hi Georgia, Thank you for your response! I have completed your instructions and have the resultant files (Except the support tool files - see below), however, as I mentioned /index.php?showtopic=68902&p=253582" rel="">in another post on these forums, as these kind of files contain personal information, I don't think…

Version 20.0.28.1478 Issue still persists. While copying files to another computer via Windows Explorer, had massive slowdowns that were instantly relieved by disabling port scanning. I would also like to note that a few minutes later after re-enabling the block port scan option, copies appear to (at the moment) be working…

What tool have you used to get this information? Having a similar problem since yesterday evening and would like to check if it is really bitdefender. Windows Performance Toolkit - https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/hh162981.aspx See also:…

I don't feel comfortable posting a link in a public forum with the considerable amount of personal information that is contained within an ETL file. Instead I will send the link to you in private message.
-
Hi Soren, I have the ETL (the Windows Performance Toolkit trace) I used to generate that graph above, would that help the developers? I could email a link but I don't know where to email it to.

Can say this still is not fixed although it appears to happen less often. I haven't yet found at trigger for it. This time I was downloading a .exe and sending a different file from my computer to another via Microsoft Remote Desktop. The main symptom was lagging and jerky mouse on the desktop. The low part in the middle…

As per the/index.php?showtopic=68902&page=1#entry251867" rel=""> first post by OverlordQ, it took actually using Windows Performance Toolkit to identify the cause of the CPU usage which showed as "lags". The lag for me caused everything to load slower and the mouse itself to move slower and "lag". The CPU usage didn't show…

It looks like a moderator has merged two forum topics, one about high CPU usage and one about throttling started by AcePuppy ( see the old version here )which is why this topic suddenly has alot more replies than I remember and why the conversation seems a bit disjointed. It would appear they were meant to be separate…

Make sure if you are experiencing this to tell support, the more reports they have, the more likely it will be fixed. Phone: http://www.bitdefender.com/support/consumer-phone.html Email Form(Australian): http://www.bitdefender.com.au/support/contact-us.html Email other: Supposed to be here:…

turned off the 'block port scans inn the network' module This fixed it for me.

Yeah working here now. You can't really state Bitdefender is any worse than others with pushing out bad updates. Kaspersky put out an update at one point that bricked computers because it quarantined windows system files ( http://news.cnet.com/Kaspersky-inadvertent..._3-6223836.html ) and even Norton has had it's share of…

There was a patch that came through, I didn't see anything(dlls or exes) like you listed in the screenshot, and no restart required yet, but it seems to be behaving itself and not crashing for the moment.

Win7SP1 x64 Same problem. I have a feeling it has to do with Windows updates since they occurred around about the time it stopped working. Specifically these ones: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3029944 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3023562 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3013455

I'm having the exact same error here, I have a feeling it was a windows update that did it but I'm not sure. See also: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=228108
