  • If you do it also disables IDS which is a firewall component. The only real addition over Antivirus would then be Antispam. That in turn currently only works for POP3 mail accounts. If it was my PC I would take a backup and use trial versions to see which was best for my needs.
  • Uninstall comodo and then install BitDefender Antivirus. Then reinstall comodo. Forget trying to use BitDefender internet security and comodo together. Two firewalls cause major conflicts and can actually open ports because of opposing rules and traffic routes.
  • That would be a shame since customers usually would like to test the product first that is what the trial versions are for
  • Turn off cookies storage in your browser. Also to minimise risk of malware infection it is best not to use those type of sites
  • I'd be more interested if it was a secure-boot compatible bootable image rather than an EXE. The fact that another free standalone tool has been developed specifically for adware/PUP malware makes me question the validity of Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition. Surely the 'extra' functionality would be better implemented…
  • Also no need to start again with new email address. As and when you get the new license it can be associated with your existing user account.
  • Disk and license from eBay for £5 is only going to end badly. Avoid deals like that. They indefinitely are cloned numerous times over, pirated or codes for another region that won't work in your locale. Okay so £39.99 is too expensive. Shop around sensibly and you may find a new legit copy from the likes of Amazon (not…
  • Try turning off 'Anonymous Usage Reports'. In 2014 version it was found under Settings>General Settings>Advanced. Not sure about 2015 but it should be similar. Anyhow, that is most likely what is calling home. It also enables the cloud functions for realtime malware protection. So whenever you open a new file or create one…
  • Did you run the uninstall utility in windows safe mode?
  • hi, download the 2014 uninstall tool from this link. you will need the activation code handy for reinstallation: http://www.bitdefender.com/files/Knowledge...installTool.exe restart the pc in windows safe mode and run the uninstall tool. it will remove the old version from your pc far easier than in windows normal mode.…
  • in that case maybe it is time to rattle the Bitdefender technical support cage and open a current support ticket if you haven't already done so. without further diagnostic information which they will need from you it is nigh on impossible to advise further on this in the forum.…
  • Hi, please make sure you have patched .net Framework 1 to service pack 1. Then apply all subsequent security patches via windows update. There was a flaw in .net framework that caused a similar issue regardless of a user account password being set in windows itself. Also if you haven't done so Service Pack 3 and all…
  • the 2013 uninstaller should work for windows 8 security if you do try it. however, please note that the entire range of Bitdefender products from July 2013 onwards contain ELAM. ELAM was one of the main reasons for windows 8 security in the first instance. BDAV and BDIS can both scan windows 8 apps because they scan all…
  • Nothing whatsoever to do with Bitdefender or their products. You may have more joy on google searching with 'how to...' followed by your question. Then a more relevant forum or site of information will become apparent.
  • Most likely next actual version update will coincide with Windows 10 release to manufacturers/general public release.
  • one of the reasons I like AV Plus is it doesn't have antispam and all the extras from IS that I don't want or need. If you need antispam then IS is the product for you.

  • I here you mahn but as you have pointed out it took like 8 mins to scan around 50Gigs of data(windows + software + muziq) and thus doing the math here i see that for my 250 Gigs of data it should take like 40Mins. now considering the system architectures and differences(8GB RAM vs 2GB , Quad core vs CORE 2 DUO , Windows 7…
  • I have been having this really bad problem with my bitdefender TS 2015 system scan. since introduction of this infamed bitdefender photon tech i have not seen it work.... my scans take upto 4 hrs yet they should take like 20 mins. I am running windows 8 64 bit on my hp pavillion dv5 and i got 2GB RAM and a 500Gigs HDD…
  • Similar problem here, but a bit different. On http://www.bitdefender.com/support/contact-us.html (Open an email ticket) form, the "Country" field disappears when you select a product. Then, when you finally click Submit, it says "Enter your country"! I tried it in both IE11 and Firefox with the same results. It doesn't…
  • you are on the right site, just not the right section. either way you should receive some advice. however one of the moderators may well move your topic to this section: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showforum=356 if you set your proxy settings in the web browser already then as far as I know Bitdefender Free…
  • What build of CCleaner are you using? Is it up-to-date from piriform or the filehippo mirror site? Reason I ask is I have used it for years, along with standalone Thunderbird (again which build are you using?) and never had any problems with Bitdefender flagging those files as infected. Disabling realtime protection isn't…
  • Sorry but that is not a great idea removing captcha from the submission site. the malware analysis team are already busy enough without dealing with spam emails from robots. Also a captcha system would not go amiss on this forum at present. The first 8 topics in the General subforum of the 2013 products have been generated…
  • not Bitdefender. It is still available for download and linked to on the Bitdefender websites. They continue to release updates and databases for it which are applied when it updates itself. So it is not end of life. As and when it is end of life, I am sure that Bitdefender will announce it. With regards the unanswered…
  • Hello. My problem is that when I try to run the installation of total security, it keeps trying to uninstall KasperSky, which I used before. I've searched around, and done some things to try and help it out, without luck. So I hope you can help me get rid of this problem. Things I have tried: 1. I used Kaspersky's removal…
  • 6.4-6.6 should be fine. Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Fedora are both supported. Cent OS is built on the same source code as RHEL. If you check the system requirements are met for the kernel and libraries you should be good to go. There are FAQ and full PDF documentation available on the website in your topic title.
  • Confirmation ELAM has been present across the home user products since July 2013. We've already extended the ELAM technology to our classic line products. However, the driver is available only in Windows 8 - in Bitdefender 2013 products and The New Bitdefender classic line:…
  • You don't specify what operating system. Hopefully Windows 7. Anyhow the following instructions are for that. If not, please google the similar solution for W8/8.1 as applicable. It seems like you have windows set to automatically restart when your machine encounters a BSOD? If that is the case it would explain the…
  • Yup - trying to distance itself from 8 as much as possible - by even skipping 9 lol another reason for skipping W9 number which carries some weight is that certain third party applications developed for windows 95 and 98 would wrongly detect the OS version because of this code line they used: if(version.StartsWith("Windows…
  • Thanks for sharing the emails. A glimmer of hope emerging from the end of the tunnel. I hope the same modifications once tested apply to the 2014 version as well
