All mentioned issues can be solve by installing the following KB from Microsoft:


Computer stops responding when you run an application that uses the Windows Filtering Platform API in Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008, or Windows Vista

Reboot and run again Windows Update to get all new patches.


How to check if the fix was applied correctly: in C:\Windows\System32\drivers , netio.sys need to have file version higher or equal with 6.1.7600.21211
