Bitdefender Home Network

I have two XP SP3 deives on my home network. Both have fully licensed installation of BDIS2009 installed and running. Both are in the same workgroup. When I try to add the second PC (even though it shows with a red bitdefender icon) I am told it does not have BD installed or is not accessible. What is going wrong here ? What do I need to do to get this to join the BD network ?

    I'm having a similar problem, except I have 2 computers registered to the home network and cannot add a third. All machines are running the BDTS2009 using the same 3 computer license. Any suggestions?

    I have the same problem. I have unintalled the program on my laptop and cant get the user interface to come up. I have sent this issue to technical support and hope they can help.

  • try this from Rslenic

    in this case you should try to add a trusted zone in the Firewall module for each other computer you want to add ph34r.gif . follow the steps below:

    - select the Firewall in Advanced View;

    - open the Network tab;

    - select the used network under Zones (either Local Area Connection or Wireless Connection);

    - click on the icon with a "+" from the Zones part;

    - select one computer from that list, either by name or by IP;

    - from the Action menu, select Trusted;

    - click on OK;

    - you should see a zone being added in the Zones list for that computer and you should be able to access it now.

    Thank you NesraNeets! That has solved the problem. :)

    I've tried this with no success - neither computer using BD can see the other in Network.

    Step 6 from Rslenic is slightly different: the action choice of radio buttons is allow / deny, but I assume that's what is meant.

    I'm using BD2009 / XP, with both computers registered.

    Network setting:Trusted Local / Stealth:Remote/ Generic:Yes

    Wireless connection is through a Netgear router.

    Any other ideas please anyone?

  • you should try to check if you are able to ping both computers from the other one. Find the IP of one computer using the ipconfig command in the cmd window, then go to the second one and ping the ip that you have for the 1st one and check if it goes through. also, are you able to see that other computer's network shares?

    Thanks, Rsenic... Duh... That made me realise that the other computer, which is new, was not part of the Windows network.

    Now sorted.
