New OS on same device (Active Bitdefender subscription on Windows 10)

I have a Laptop on which Windows 10 is currently running and I have an ongoing Bitdefender subscription. I am planning to load new OS ( Linux-Ubuntu) on the same device. Will I lose the subscription?

    Hello @SMS Nawaz

No, you will not lose that license, as long as you remove it from your Windows 10 apps first. I would use the uninstall tool, as it will remove all the Bitdefender apps at one time.

    https://www.bitdefender.com/uninstall/

Then I would go into your Central account and confirm is been removed from that device, or else click on the device, Details, and Remove.

And as you probably know, Bitdefender is not compatible with Linux.

    Kind regards.

Also, note that there is no Bitdefender product for Linux home users. If you want to use a Bitdefender product on your Linux system, you will have to opt for a business or enterprise product from Bitdefender, as they support Linux.

Bitdefender installed on Windows will not scan or protect your Linux partition when you dual boot. Here's why:

    1. File System Differences: Windows and Linux use different file systems (NTFS and Ext4, for example). Bitdefender, being designed for Windows, won't recognize or understand the Linux file system structure, making it impossible to scan or protect files stored there.
    2. Separate Environments: When you dual boot, each operating system runs in its own isolated environment. This means software installed on one OS cannot directly access or interact with the files and processes of the other OS.
