Reinstall BitDefender Total Security after clean install Win 11

In order to upgrade to Win 11 unfortunately I must do a clean install.

I think that all I need to do is log in to my account online, deactivate my desktop install, have the upgrade to Win11 done, then log in to Bit Defender again, and reinstall it on my desktop.

Is it really that simple? It would be nice if I could save my various settings! I understand that may not be possible though.

Thanks in advance for any advice or comments. 😀

  • Hello @DiverDoc,

After upgrading to Windows 11, all you have to do to reinstall Bitdefender is to open your browser, go to https://central.bitdefender.com/ and sign in. There, make sure to remove the previous device, to free up that slot, then follow the usual installation steps to reinstall Bitdefender on the device. Here are the steps, in this order:

Unfortunately, the software doesn't have a feature that remembers the previous settings you've had, or an actual backup of settings to load, so you will have to set it up again, according to your preferences.

I hope this helps and let us know how it went.
