Why is the little arrow on the taskbar icon missing?

When I installed Bitdefender, for the first 2 days, there was a small arrow in the task bar icon as shown below.

However, now there is no such thing.

Why is it? What does it mean?

    Hello @shamz

Did you recently enable Activate Profiles Automatically? This will take Bitdefender out of the "standard mode", icon change, allowing Profiles to function for what is being accessed, used at the time like Movies, Games etc. found on the Utilities/Profiles window. Bitdefender will still update as normal, unless a profile launches, in which if you click on the below article, will tell you what will happens during a profile (the profile links at the bottom of the article).

    https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/2062/

When Work profile is enabled, update check interval is automatically set to 8 (eight) hours.

When Movie profile is enabled, update check interval is automatically set to 8 (eight) hours.

When Game profile is enabled, update check interval is automatically set to 12 (twelve) hours.

When Public Wi-Fi profile is enabled, update check interval is automatically set to 1 (one) hour.

When Battery Mode (for laptops) profile is enabled, update check interval is automatically set to 1 (one) hour.

I hope this helped to answer your question.

  • Hi Scott. Thanks for your reply. I have activated profiles. That might be the reason then.
