Wierd Black Bars after installing bitdefender

Hello, I installed Bitdefender today and used my pc like normal after that. After 2 hours of use my Google looks a bit wierd. When I change it to light mode it looks normal, but on dark mode I have these wierd bars. I have done nothing special except installing bitdefender. Can anyone help me?

If the question is in the wrong category, please inform me and move it or tell me what the right category is.

Thanks

Yep, I meant search for Google creating black boxes doing searches. Words to that effect, to try to figure it out, if it can be, at least for now. With Brave and Google, no problems (BD Anti-Tracker disabled).

  • Also, before that happened I had the green Checkmarks next to the links, then I didn't have them for a bit and now I had these black boxes

    Hello @HariboBie

How a Chrome web search displays in dark mode is more of a Google, Chrome issue, and not due to Bitdefender.

Try clearing all of your Chrome History/cookies/cache. then log out of your Google account and log back in, and see if that helps.

As for the Bitdefender search rating icons you confirm that you have Search Advisor enabled in the app settings, Protection/Online Threat Prevention. This article could also be helpful just in case.

    Hello.

    My specs:

    Asus X551CA

OS Windows 10 Pro 22H2 x64 With Latest Windows Updates Installed

    OS Build 19045.5608

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19061.1000.0

    BD Total Security 27.0.49.250

BD SecurePass 1.1.15 On Mozilla Firefox 136.0.2 x64

I did a test and here are the results:

As you can see from the screenshot, i don't have any issues.

Anyway, you could refresh Firefox, by following these steps: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings

and see if that fixed the issue.

    Regards.

  • Hello,

I refreshed firefox, this didn't work. I run W11 Enterprise with the newest updates.

I also followed the steps in https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/2677/ , this didn't work. I will try the rest of the steps @Scott said now

    Regards

  • Okay, I have the Search Rating Icons back, but the black boxes are persistant. Haven't cleared cache and cookies yet, will do that now.

  • Clearing Cache and Cookies did not help. I have search Rating Icons and the black boxes.

    Kind Regards

When I did a quick search about this issue last night, it seemed like it was a Google thing, where they intermittently do things like this?

I would do a Google search without using Bitdefender in your search, and see what you come up with.

  • It happens when I search anything, also now the Search Rating Icons are gone again. BitDefender is performing a Full System Scan right now, idk if that has any relevancy tho.

what i just noticed is that my background is much brighter than the one of @Gjoksi, which would explain the black bars. Why the icons are switching on and off idk

9:37PM: Icons just came back for some reason

  • Okay, after cancelling the Full Scan it just works now?? (the Icons are also there, just not for youtube links for some reason). And my main page is darker like in @Gjoksi comment and the black squares from before so i guess this issue can be closed.

Thank you @Gjoksi and @Scott for the help!
