Will It Scan When Computer Is Off?

When setting BD up, it defaulted to scan at 2:00 a.m. Will it actually scan at that time even if my computer is turned off?

And furthermore...

I dont have a scheduled scan set. Rather, every 3 or 4 days, I just manually activate the scan when I am going to bed. I leave the PC disconnected from the net whilst doing this.
