On my Windows 11 Pro PC with BD Total Security started running the RE Scan and at the point where the screen shows a reset, everything froze. At this point I was not able to restart the PC so I did a hard shut down. When I re-booted the PC, Windows never starts up after the BIOS flash screen appears and the screen just goes dark(no spinning dots or messages). At this point, I shut down and booted back up into BIOS to check the windows drive(SSD) and all looked normal. I then booted to Windows from the BIOS and the spinning dots froze again with the BIOS flash screen displayed. At this point there were no controls so I was forced to shut down. Next, I tried booting into Windows and pressing the power button to do a hard shut down 3 times to attempt to get to the recovery mode but it never appeared. I then inserted my recovery flash drive and attempted to boot up from BIOS to the flash drive. I got the same behavior as when I tried to boot to Windows normally, the spinning dots froze with BIOS flash screen frozen. At this point, I see no other option than to remove the Windows boot drive(SSD) and try to boot up on the USB flash drive as if to re-install Window again to a new drive but I wanted to post this problem first in case there is something I am overlooking regarding Bitdefender RE Scanning. Any suggestions or ideas as to what I can do next?
