Did MacOS Sequoia 15.4 break BitDefender?

There's an important Mac OS update that came out today, which I installed on my devices. The BitDefender app, which I downloaded from the Apple Store threw an error message that read:

I'm puzzled as to what I should next.

  • I have the same problem.

  • Hello,

I think more information about the application is needed here, for example which of the 2 is it (BDVS or VSP), and when does the error occur (when opening the app, when scanning - which scan, when updating, etc.).

As for troubleshooting, you could try the following:
Using a cleanup application, you can delete the application container, 'the sandbox', where the application keeps its working files, as displayed in the image below from a cleanup applicationv - Appcleaner:

So, you can open Appcleaner, quit BDVS/VSP, drag the app over the Appcleaner interface, deselect the app and the MAS (Mac App Store) installation files, then click 'Remove'.
Note: the Appcleaner application also needs FDA (Full Disk Access) permissions to function correctly.
After that, restart the BDVS/VSP application, update, scan, etc., and it should resume functionality.

Let me know how it goes.

    I have the same problem.

When I uninstall and reinstall the application as you said, (with Appcleaner) the problem persists. Even after deleting the operating system and doing a clean installation again, when I install Bitdefender Virus Scanner Plus, the same problem persists. However, when I disable SIP when the macos starts, the application works. There is no problem. But I want to use it as SIP enable. Probably if INTPMann and cruptorix disable SIP, there will be no problem. But as I said, I want to use Bitdefender Plus Scanner Program as SIP enable. By the way, the application I mentioned is an application purchased once from the App Store. It is not a program obtained from your website and obtained with a monthly subscription.

Note: When SIP disable I add the program Full Disk Access permission and other permission. But restart as SIP enable problem persists.

  • Hi,

I think more details are needed here too, for example the OS version, device type (Intel/ARM), and if it's ARM - have you installed it (like MAS requires when installing the application) rosetta 2, etc.

In my opinion, no application installed from MAS is allowed to request to disable security stuff (like SIP) to work...

So, I'm not really sure what's going on there, either the application is cracked, or the actual OS..
I would recommend to take this to the Support teams for further investigation, since we can't really dive into the issue here, without actually taking a look at the specifics. In the event nobody else has other suggestions on the forum, I think the Support teams may further assist, and you can get in touch with them using the link below:

State your contact reason / choose request category, then choose from the available contact channels, chat, phone and email/ticket. Chat would be the fastest way to reach them.
