  • Hi,

Here are the minimum system requirements to run Bitdefender on Windows:

Operating System: Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Windows 11
    Memory (RAM): 2 GB
Available free hard disk space: 2.5 GB free space

*System performance may be affected on devices that have old generation CPUs

    SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
    Internet Explorer version 11

By the looks of it, you should be able to install the software on your device without any issues whatsoever.

Let me know how the installation process goes.

  • Thank you very much. I was able to install and purchase successfully.

Question: Is the product automatically updated to the software, and does it require me to search for a new version when it becomes available?

I went to the settings to update and found that I have 8 hours to check for the update. Should I change something, reduce the number of hours, or leave everything by default for the update?

    Hello @AmrFromEgypt,

So, Bitdefender updates its virus definitions daily, but major version updates happen about once every four weeks.
The default update settings are suited for most users and you do not normally need to change them. Bitdefender is configured to check for updates every hour. To change the update frequency, you can drag that slider along the scale to set the desired period of time when the update should occur.
Every time an update is available, Bitdefender will automatically download and implement the update without showing notifications. You can turn off the Silent update option if you want to be notified each time a new update is available. Some updates require a restart to complete the installation. By default, if an update requires a restart, Bitdefender will keep working with the old files until the user voluntarily restarts the device. This is to prevent the Bitdefender update process from interfering with the user's work.

To make sure that you are using the latest version, your Bitdefender automatically checks for product updates. These updates may bring new features and improvements, fix product issues, or automatically upgrade you to a new version. When the new Bitdefender version comes via update, customized settings are saved, and the uninstall and reinstall procedure is skipped.
These updates require a system restart to initiate the installation of new files. When a product update is completed, a pop-up window will inform you to restart the system. If you miss this notification, you can either click 'Restart now' in the Notifications window where the most recent update is mentioned, or manually restart the system.
You can also manually update Bitdefender to the most recent version by right-clicking the Bitdefender icon in the taskbar. More information about updates and the latest version is available here:

And we also post the changelog for new versions on the forum on the thread below:

I hope the information is helpful.
