Cannot access C:\ProgramData\Bitdefender\Desktop

Following new install of BD Total Security access to the above folder and sub-folders, which includes log files folder (including simple, read access) is blocked by Windows folder security.

Cannot change access or take ownership using Explorer, or even iacls/takeown, even when running explorer/DOS/PowerShell as administrator.

Windows Explorer (folder properties/security/advanced) reports "Unable to display current owner", but trying to change permissions shows folder is owned by "Administrators (USED-ID\Administrators)" with full control/all with effective access.

Not only can the folder not be access in Explorer/DOS, but clicking on View Log in BD Notifications has no effect (not even an error). So, scan results are hidden and although I see counts for resolved/unresolved issues, and quarantined items, i cannot access them or even find out what they are, UNLESS I manually run BitDefender as admin. As the log viewer is pretty useless, I would much prefer access to the XML files, which of course means resolving the Windows access issue. Similarly, an initial scan scan (which ran for 40 hours as 15TB data, listing hundreds of issues, ended without notification and has no log file listed in the Notifications, so I have no idea what it found, or what files it quarantined.

Any ideas?

PS During scans, BD also falsely reports multiple files (eg Thunderbird mbox mail files) as being password protected (which the are not) and so the cannot be scanned as I cannot enter a passwords as there is none!

Any ideas?
