The problem disappeared by itself the next day, just like you suggested. So glad it's now below 1% as it should be. Thanks again for your help !
Hi! 😊
How long have you had it installed?
I think I've reinstalled my PC (and thus my AV) a couple month ago. Or maybe a bit more.
Sorry for posting about that btw, since I'm a free user, but as you know, I'm a bit worried to see that it takes 10% of my CPU all day long for Bitdefender to run idle, even after I asked it to do absolutely nothing by disabling all protections I could think of. IMHO this is absolutely not normal behavior in such case, and as you guessed, this is not motivating me at all to pay for the premium version.
How long has the percentage had this value?
He installed the latest available version 27.0. 50.256
I would say to leave everything active normally, because it is likely that some Windows or app update is running and therefore it is normal for the antivirus CPU percentage to be of that value, which in any case is not a very high value.
Leave it like this and check again in a few minutes/hours when it is likely that Windows or other apps have finished the update.
Let me know. 😉
Just noticed this today by accident when opening the Process explorer to check my computer network usage, so it could not say more than a few hours. Anyway, thanks for your insights Nunzio, if this is caused by a stupid Windows update then indeed this will be solved automatically after I reboot my computer tonight after work.
What version does Bitdefender Free you have?
You have the latest version: 27.0.50.256?
Nope, it says 27.0.49.254 despite the automatic updates are enabled…
Ok then don't worry, leave Bitdefender Free up and running, you will surely receive the new update in the next few days (the update reaches all users within a few days).
Afterwards check if the problem still persists or not, but as already said it is likely that this is due to background activities of Windows or other apps.
Keep me updated, I'm curious to know how it ends and available for further support. 😉
