[solved]get Dep With Internet Explorer

Hi all,

I have just installed Bitdefender Antivirus 2009. After restarting my computer, the Internet Explorer won't function and I get a DEP warning. All other systems are working and I have a new PC with Vista that was all updated and worked fine before BD. Only IE is not working.

Sincerely,

Amol

    Good day,

My Internet Explorer still doesn't work and after using Firefox it crashes when I close Firefox. Can anybody advice me on this?

    Sincerely,

    Arnold

  • hi Arnold. What do you mean by DEP ?

Try to uninstall the product from http://www.bitdefender.com/uninstall if the problem goes away please let us know so that I can report it and see what the problem is.

I doubt BD could make DEP trigger on IE, but try this to be sure.

    Hello all,

DEP problems have previously been reported with Firefox 3 and BitDefender. The problems were caused by the BD Antiphishing bar.

As far as I know, this issue was not reported on IE or Firefox 2, only on Firefox 3, and it was supposedly fixed in the last BD build, 12.0.11.

To the users who experience this, try to disable the BD Antiphishing bars in Firefox/IE (do NOT only disable the module in BD's interface... but disable the whole Firefox/IE plugin).

    Hi,

Thank you, the Firefox works fine now. With IE I had to turn off the DEP for it.
