As attached I have the custom scan set to scan just c:\users\hcann so why is it scanning folders out side that like c:\windows etc and hkey_local_machine…
I had to interrupt a FULL scan after 14 hrs for my Alienware x14 R2. Please fix it!
@camarie, @dvsls, can you look into this?
Regards
Hello,
Looking at the screenshots, the first one shows a custom scan, but I'm not sure how the path was selected and what it's supposed to scan (e.g. how many files are there, their type and how they are organized) while the second screenshot displays a system scan, which performs a comprehensive check for malware of the entire system. All connected mounts will be scanned too. Depending on the size of your hard disk, scanning the entire system may take a while. For improved performance, it is recommended not to run this task while performing other resource-intensive tasks. But is this your first system scan since Bitdefender was installed on that device? For the record, with every system scan, Bitdefender will index the files that have already been scanned, and the scan time will greatly decrease.
Going back to the custom scan, elapsed time shows less than an hour scanning time, so I suppose it did scan according to custom settings, but like I said before, I can't know exactly what you selected there, by the looks of it there were roughly 30k files there. Maybe the members who were previously tagged here can also express their own opinion.
