The latest Bitdefender update is causing problems with internet connectivity.

Last night, when Bitdefender updated, I started having issues with my internet—even though my mom’s PC and phones were working fine. I was away from my computer at the time, so I didn’t realize Bitdefender had updated. After trying several methods to fix the issue, I eventually uninstalled Bitdefender, and everything started working again.

The main problems were:

• Discord wouldn’t open
• Medal wasn’t working
• Some websites wouldn’t load and showed the “Server address could not be found” error

I tried changing my DNS, restarting my PC and router, and several other things, but the issue was clearly caused by Bitdefender. Once I uninstalled it, everything worked.

However, I don’t want to go without antivirus protection just to be able to use the internet. Please help.

If the instructions from Step 1 didn't help, uninstall the Bitdefender program using the Uninstall Tool (also works for Bitdefender Free):

It will completely remove the program.
Next, reinstall Bitdefender from your Bitdefender Central account and see if the issue has been solved, as reinstalling the program usually solves the issues.

First, take screenshot(s) of the issue
and create a log file on your Windows device using Bitdefender Support Tool, by following these steps:

Next, contact Bitdefender Consumer Support by e-mail:

with short description of the issue.
After that, you will get an automated reply by the Bitdefender Customer Care Team, with your ticket number.
Now, in reply to that automated reply, you can send the screenshot(s) you already took and the log file you already created in the first step.
Since you are all done, just wait for the support engineers to investigate your issue and find a solution to fix the issue.
Remember that the screenshot(s) and the log file will help a lot to the support engineers for better and faster investigation on your issue and finding a solution.

After the upload is done, you will get a notification with the file's URL and then you can share the file's URL with the Bitdefender Consumer Support.
