HUGE number of files flagged with generic detection with new update

I just had Bitdefender quarantine a huge number of files flagged with Gen:Variant.Barys.501519, and quarantined them which completely corrupted it beyond repair.

Here is the VirusTotal result for some of the files:

I would report all this as false positives, except for the fact that 1) the false positive report page is broken in both Firefox and Chrome, and 2) the form is designed to be as inconvenient as possible and I don't want to fill in this form 30+ times.

In fact, the number of generic false positives has increased since July 29th, there is very large number of detections in the registry for Microsoft's own Windows Compatibility Tool.

I am uninstalling Bitdefender for the time being, it consumes way too much CPU time creating false positives and doing unnecessary registry changes

First, take screenshot(s) of the issue,
create a log file on your Windows device using Bitdefender Support Tool, by following these steps:

Next, contact Bitdefender Consumer Support by e-mail:
https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/help/
with short description of the issue.
After that, you will get an automated reply by the Bitdefender Customer Care Team, with your ticket number.
Now, in reply to that automated reply, you can send the screenshot(s) you already took and the log files you already created in the first step.
Since you are all done, just wait for the support engineers to investigate your issue and find a solution to fix the issue.
Remember that the screenshot(s) and the log files will help a lot to the support engineers for better and faster investigation on your issue and finding a solution.

After the upload is done, you will get a notification with the file's URL and then you can share the file's URL with the Bitdefender Consumer Support.
