I would like to upgrade my current Windows 10 system to Windows 11 because of the looming end of support for Windows 10 in October. I do however have concerns about Bitdefender's Protection in regards to the upgrade process. Is it necessary to uninstall and subsequently reinstall Bitdefender when upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11?
I am currently using Bitdefender Internet Security on Windows 10 and understand that Windows 11 changes some low level stuff about how the operating system works, including functionality relating to security. I am therefor unsure if it would be necessary to uninstall Bitdefender before the upgrade and subsequently reinstall it afterwards. I would rather not disable my protection for any period of time, however short it may be.
I have seen some conflicting information about this, even on this forum, with some users saying how they did not have any problems themselves or how it is not necessary to uninstall and others giving reasons why one should reinstall. I hope I do not sound entitled in saying so, but given the amount of different opinions on this topic and the technical know-how needed relating to Windows and Bitdefender to accurately assess my question, I would very much appreciate an answer from a Bitdefender employee or an official source provided with an answer.
Thanks to whoever may answer in advance.
