G'day
As a long-time user of Norton's security suite, I am disillusioned with the direction this product is headed in with their 360 update.
Despite much complaining on their community forums, they're not listening to paying customers, so I've decided to vote with my wallet and switch to an alternative. BitDefender is always spoken of highly during my research, so I'm considering purchasing a one-year subscription. I would appreciate answers to the following.
- I prefer to do my security software installs offline. Norton has an full offline installer, which I always used, and I see from my research that BitDefender also has something similar. I did read, however, that not everything is contained within this offline installation file. Is this the case?
- I like to do optimisation tasks manually. Does the OneClick Optimizer run automatically? If so, can it be turned off?
- Does Bitdefender Total Security include a web extension, similar to Norton Safe Web, for grading web links? If not, does the product have any built-in browser protection?
- Finally, does the software auto-renew my subscription? If so, is there an option to turn this off?
Many thanks
