This is not something new; Bitdefender has been aware of steganography since 2021. Below is a related blog post from Bitdefender.

I have shared the link to this specific Bitdefender Community Forum post with Bitdefender support to request information from the Bitdefender malware research team regarding steganography-based threats. The goal is to determine whether Bitdefender includes any components related to steganography detection in both its consumer and business/enterprise products. I will update this post as soon as I receive a reply.
Adding steganography detection would definitely strengthen Bitdefender’s protection against emerging threats. It could help detect hidden malware or data exfiltration in images, videos, or other media files. A dedicated module or heuristic approach for this could be a valuable addition across products.
