Bitdefender Anti-tracker blocking whatsapp web from loading

Just tested everything and this is blocking whatsapp web from loading under Win 10, Firefox 152.0.1 64 bits. What worries me is they actually track everything… chrome works fine.

Hi @majorpain

I confirmed it on my end as well, Windows 10 64-bit, and newly installed FF 64-bit. It's just the way the 2 different browsers, Chrome/Chromium and Firefox/Gecko, handle things.

Bitdefender's Anti-Tracker occasionally does that, blocks the functionality of a website, but, you have 3 options, the first two may not be what you're looking for is: To Pause protection for that site by clicking the Anti-Tracker extension. Or, add that site as an exception in the settings.

If you still wanted to block trackers, ads etc. would be to use the uBlock extension for Firefox, having disabled Bitdefender's. I find it all around to be more consistent than Bitdefender's Anti-Tracker, and in my case, just use Brave's Aggressively bock trackers and ads, for that browser.

I hope this helped :)

Thanks mate. I have it disabled for now. I do use uBlock also, so no worries. Posted only so people do know about this. Thanks again.

The Chrome/Firefox difference is probably the key detail here. If WhatsApp Web loads normally in Chrome but stops working in Firefox with Anti-Tracker enabled, I’d first suspect a compatibility as same ac issue between the Firefox extension and one of WhatsApp’s required scripts.
