Unable to install Bitdefender Total Security

Forgive me if I do not use the correct terms as I am Dutch. When I try and open the installation file of Total Security as an administrator, nothing happens, except there is a message on my screen: flow.bitdefender.net is trying to save something

Can someone please help

Is this the first time you are installing Bitdefender on that device? Does the device meet the system requirements to install Bitdefender? You can find them here.

Apart from this, are there any other security solutions installed on that machine? Is the network connection stable?
Are there any other errors displayed? flow.bitdefender.net usually appears when the installation kit is downloading from Bitdefender Central.

Hi Alex, no I am trying to install a new version as the old one is running out. The specs of my PC are ok. No other errors displayed, I have a LAN connection .

Hi,

If your previous Bitdefender version is still installed on the device(s), it's not necessary to install the new version.
Once you enter the activation code in Central, if the new plan is identical to the one you have, the validity will be extended accordingly. If it's not, you'll find two subscriptions overlapping in your Bitdefender Central account, until the previous one expires. The catch is, Bitdefender is tied to the running subscription in Central, so its configuration and validity will change according to the plan active in the account. If you have already activated the new subscription, check under "My Subscriptions" in Central how it's displayed. If you see two subscriptions there, most likely the protected devices are still assigned to the previous subscription, but you can reallocate them to the new one by following the steps from this article (in the event Bitdefender is still installed):
