Scam Protection Pro - SMS & Notification Protection unable to stay enabled on Android

Hi everyone,

I'm posting to see if anyone else has encountered this issue or if the Bitdefender team can advise on a fix.

Inside Bitdefender Mobile Security / Ultimate Security on Android, under the Scam Protection Pro menu, both SMS Protection and Scam Notification Protection fail to remain active. When toggling them on, they immediately revert back to the off state with an orange warning banner stating "Enable for full protection."

Pixel 9, Android 17, Everything is updated.

I am having a similar issue. Both items stay toggled but the checked messages count number is not increasing anymore. I have removed the device in central, uninstalled, installed again with reboots between each step. It will count maybe two messages and then stop counting again.

Toggling the permission off and back on does not seem to help either.

I also noticed a message come through with no sound or notification, but it was received. I saw Google messages background process icon show up and disappear. I waited a few minutes and then checked and there was an unread message that had silently arrived.

Yeah, I am also still having issues with messaging counts. The header in the mobile app seems to imply that it is only 30 days, but I think my problem may have more to do with Android's notification summaries and notification bundles. I have them both turned off, but occasionally I will do something completely unrelated and then receive around 86 notifications starting from two weeks ago.

I don't know if that might relate to your concerns with messaging.
