New Bitdefender Device Scan

Question

New Bitdefender asked me now several times after a while that an USB stick has been placed. (Which i did not). And that it wants to scan it. So i did it, and this comes:

After a while it scans drive H. But a while means literally 3-4 minutes. H is a drive on USB. It seems Bitdefender identifies it as an USB stick, when it goes from different energy states to normal working. Old one did not do that. What can i do?

The thing is, scanning an external HDD is considered normal, from the default antivirus perspective. Now, it's possible that on v27 you had this setting OFF, and v28 came with it enabled by default, as it should normally be on, for security reasons..

It explicitly tells me that it's a USB Drive, while it's a fast external SSD. It asks all the time. I stopped this now, and shut down automatic scanning. But the old version did not have that problem, and it was at standard settings. So anyway. Thanks guys. As you can see also, for more than 55 seconds it had issues even to find the "drive" or what's causing it. All i have seen it that is was scanning H and G, which would be my external drive. But only after around more than 3-4 minutes of showing the above.

I don't think this is "a known quirk". @Saleh76 I don't know where you got that information from..

Anyway, if we're talking about an external drive, it's normal for it to be scanned, if that setting is enabled. So, if it's a HDD, USB and Windows identifies it as removable, it will be scanned. Under Antivirus settings, you can set 'Scan Flash Drives' to 'Disabled', and simply exclude the H drive from scanning.
