I am using a network-based remote control package called Multiplicity from Stardock. It has several modules and uses several TCP ports. I want its traffic to be restricted to a certain subnet on my private home Ethermet that has no Internet access..
So, for each module on each machine I define a rule that restricts traffic to the subnet that I want it to use and to the TCP ports that it uses.
My problem is the when I list the rules, some may not show. But when I try to redefine the rule, I am told that the rule already exists. This does not give me a good feeling that Bitdefender is operating correctly. Am I doing something wrong?
I am new to Bitdefender, but not at all to computing. I just kicked Norton off of my machines because it was constantly modifying and deleting my rules. Their support was no help and tried to charge me an outrageous amount to talk to me about the problem.
Now I am wondering if I will have to move away from Bitdefender too. So far, I've called Support once, but got no useful help.
