Today, while my desktop (Windows 10) was running, my local area experienced an electrical power outage. After power was restored I started the computer and resumed my work. After opening the Bitdefender app I noticed the scheduled update time (updates scheduled every 1 hour) had lapsed and no update initiated. Upon opening the Notifications section I found an "Update encountered an error" notification from a previous offline work session. I opened that notification and performed the "Retry" option.
In the past, when I previously performed this action, it would take a few seconds and a pop up screen would appear and I would be required to confirm the update action (if my memory serves me correctly, my choices were: "new threat updates" OR "new version update"). This time that pop up screen did not appear; however, the "100% Update completed…" did appear.
I then selected the "View details" option. When selected, I was directed to a more recent notification "Update completed successfully-2hours ago". I then selected "View log". The message was: "The following file was downloaded: heur.exc".
That message seems very unusual. I browsed to find additional information, but found nothing online. Am I doing something wrong, or could my Bitdefender app be damaged? All suggestions to remedy this problem will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
PS
My Bitdefender pop up window opened asking me to confirm a "new threat update 0.3 kb", so I confirmed the action. Then I received this:
I am getting VERY concerned… Suggestions?
