Bitdefender Antivirus 2009 Major Problem

Hi I am new here

I have a Major problem with BitDefender Antivirus 2009

And 6 days ago I submitted my problem online and they said would respond via email in 24 hours

After reading some of the posts here about the lack of support I am losing hope

I payed good money for this, my previous Antivirus the reply was within 2 days

here is the problem:

I have BitDefender Antivirus 2009

When I switch to Advanced view

and go to the Shield tab

My Protection Level is set to Permissive and it wont allow me to change to Default or Aggressive.

Even when I go into Custom I cant get a tick in Scan boot, Scan inside Archives, Scan Packed files and all the boxes below these.

I originally thought these were disabled because i was using the Trail version

This is Serious problem

Did you use previous BitDefender versions? If you did, did you remove them correctly before installing BD 2009?

Also, do you (or did you) use any other security products? If you had, did you remove them completely before installing BitDefender?

A correct and complete removal of a security solution usually means using the Removal Tool released by the developers of that security product. You can get BitDefender Removal Tool from HERE. A list of other removal tools is posted HERE.

Please make sure that you used the removal tool for your previous security product(s). After that, try to reinstall BitDefender 2009 (use the Removal Tool to uninstall the one you already have). Please reboot your system after every tool you use, to make sure that the removal is made correctly.

i got the same problem after format and with clean pc,,,Do not blame other antivirus,,bitdefender Has many problems and the problems Remain or increase With each new version,,Disappearance,,the service stop,All other companies repaired the mistakes,,Take, for example,,norton 2009 the fastest right now,,kaspersky,,panda,trend micro,,nod32,,non of them Suffers from the same problems as bitdefender,,The biggest problem,,,the slow Even with the fastest pc,,I am surprised when I read announcements The official website ,,,But its only declarations to make you pay money.

I didn't have any previous BitDefender versions.

The previous anti virus was removed with their removal tool.

Plus I used a registry removal program plus manually removed left over crap

I will give this product another go and reinstall of it, and see what happens

Because at the moment its fairly useless, cant even scan incoming or out going emails let alone its set itself to the lowest possible protection

ie Permissive and cant change it

And I suspect its starting to slow done my PC.

Plus it takes about 4 hrs plus to do a scan the other anti virus only about 2 hrs and some minutes

I am not a novice PC user
