Been a huge fan of total Security 2008 and still want to use TS 2009.


I'm not happy with BD staff or support..(lack of)


So here is my story.....


I went over to Vista in March 2008 and I had to uninstall TS2008 and move to Total Security 2009. Thus my issues began.


After months of fighting it (vista and BD) I decided to uninstall. After months of sorting out other computer issues I decided to give 2009 another shot. Well I can't install it due to error,,,, "previous version detected"


I have of course ran many reg cleaners, the BD uninstall tool. Followed every witch doctor home remedy I could find online and still cant get it to even start the installation due to some scanner that finds some orphaned file associated with the previous version.


HOW ABOUT A SIMPLE INSTALL PACKAGE WITHOUT A PRE SCANNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


BD support is a joke. They sent me an email saying to let them know if I wanted my money back. I responded back and never heard back from them. So I opened another ticket and worked with a nice lady regarding a fix. Of course she went straight to the can response that they need to get some more info about my system and please look for an email with directions about the files to make and send back to support for review. They sent me an email asking for a lot of screen shots and log files. I ran them and sent them over per their request and asked how long should it take. I got a response of "less than 24 hrs". I sent them again and have still never heard back.


I decided to take a look at these so called crucial log files to see what they could tell from them.... showed nothing buy my freaking IP address and what host site I downloaded BD from. They also wanted a screen shot showing the error. OMG!!


My first trouble ticket about this in November 2008! Yup thats right!


I'm sending a letter to Florin Talpes, CEO about how their lack of customer support is killing what I think is a good product.

    same thing happened to me. i did not get any replies or solution. what i figure out was the newer installer of bitdefender totalsecurity 2009 won't install stating that previous bitdefender was not installed properly. but the first build of bitdefender total security 2009 will install. so i hope you have the first build of the bitdefender installer and try installing using it. later you can upgrade with the newest build of bitdefender installer

    Three months is too long to wait for anything. Switch to another anti-virus product that will work on your computer, BD2009 doesn't work on all machines. I use BD 2009 on one and it works. On a similar, but newer, computer I had to drop back to BD2008.

    and the rest it gives is unbelievable,


    Everything works,the scans not freezing,the Icon in the system tray Always start up,No filling the Harddrive up out of its own ,No more Bitdefender stopped working ,Google Email starts up direct Etc , Etc, Etc.................


    And no more uninstall/reinstall which is the Slogan on this forum and from the Helpdesk


    Should have done this Much sooner as other users have suggested to me,


    But I,ve spend my hard working Money on this crappy Software and expected a working produkt,boy was I wrong .
