Live Messenger Display Pics Won't Show

I recently installed Bitdefender 2009 Total Security, and since I have installed it my Windows Live Messenger display pictures of my contacts have stopped showing. I have read that with Zone Alarm's security suite a similar issue has occurred with some people.
Might anyone else have this problem or know a solution to it? I have tried individually disabling each security module to see if I could isolate which it was, but to no avail.
