What Are/is The Correct Site Names For Updating Bd 10?
In order to have my FW avoid blocking the update sites for my BitDefender AV 10 please provide the correct site names for updating BD AV 10.

Hi Escalader,
The server(s) that BD uses to update are found in Update Settings.
Other alternative servers that you can use are:
http://upgrade.bitdefender.com (default setting)
http://upgrade1.bitdefender.com
http://upgrade2.bitdefender.com
http://upgrade3.bitdefender.com
http://upgrade4.bitdefender.com
I can't give you IPs for these servers, for the simple reason that I don't know if these servers have static IPs, or dynamic IPs.
To be sure that your firewall doesn't block BD from updateing, you can give full internet access to livesrv.exe (from here: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Softwin\BitDefender Update Service\). This is the process used by BD to download updates.

Hi Cris:
Thanks, you provided what I needed! I set livesrv.exe as a trusted application in the FW (CFW 2.4)
and entered all 5 site names in as allowed. I have been able to find out the ip's for the 5 sites and provide them here for you (and the forum).
I have decided to change my BD update sites to be upgrade1 and upgrade4. Note that 1,2 1nd 3 are the same server so are not real alternatives at the moment. My guess is they are just there for future growth.
http://upgrade.bitdefender.com (default) 24.153.19.215 to 221
http://upgrade1.bitdefender.com 194.109.207.30
http://upgrade2.bitdefender.com 194.109.207.30
http://upgrade3.bitdefender.com 194.109.207.30
http://upgrade4.bitdefender.com 64.239.7.81
I don't want to use the default because not only is it slower due to heavy use but it overlaps 100% with a ip's in a site name called avu.zonelabs.com which translates as 24.153.19.215 to 222.
Why this overlap exists is a mystery. Does anybody know?0
