Hello. This is just to list the various problems I am having with internet security 2009. I am currently unable to use the program due to the problems listed as it is constantly forcing me to reboot the PC.
1. When trying to use uTorrent, BD cuts the connection between my PC and my router, anything between 1 minute and an hour after I launch uTorrent. It then proceeds to slow down the PC until eventually it freezes up completely and I am forced to do a hard reboot.
2. When connecting to my vista PC through my XBOX 360 (for the purposes of streaming vid files on the PC to watch on my living room TV) BD again cuts the connection between my PC and the Router and proceeds to lock up the system.
3. The other day, I fired up an older PC with XP for the purpose of using uTorrent. This PC does not have BD installed and had no problems at all; however, within 20 minutes, even though the two computers were not communicating with each other beyond notifying each other that they were there, BD again Cut the connection between the PC and the Router and locked up the system.
4. When reading a file on adobe, adobe detected an update and proceeded to start a download of the update. This again lead to BD cutting the connection and locking up the PC.
5. When I tried to tell BD not to load on system Boot, the PC rebooted successfully, but BD still appeared on my taskbar, but all evidence of any network connections had been removed from the PC and it had no idea that there was a router attached. In order to regain my network connection I had to re-enable BD even though it seemed that it had never been disabled.
6. On one occasion, whilst purely browsing the internet on Firefox, BD again cut the connection and locked up the PC.
7. On a few occasions, upon system boot up, bitdefender remained disabled reporting that it had a problem, forcing a reboot before it would even load up.
8. Aproximately 50% of the time I was unable to gain access to the control panel for internet security as niether double clicking on the BD icon, or right clicking and selecting 'show' worked. Only a system reboot would get this function working again.
9. BD seemed to install its anti-spam onto my microsoft office outlook client, but it did not seem to do anything when I was downloading my e-mails. Additionally, actually trying to access it by hitting the BD anti spam button from within the e-mail client, resulted in outlook locking up, forcing me to go to the task manager in order to close it down.
Ok, to try and work around these problems, I tried disabling numerous parts of internet security, eventually disabling every single thing I could find, but it had no impact. Even with everything supposedly turned off, BD still cut my connection and locked up the PC. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling BD, but the problems remained.
In my attempts to solve the problems, I also removed every extraneous program I could think of, but the problems remained.
I would appreciate any help I can get with the above problems, because I bought the product about 2 months ago from a local store, and I seriously doubt they would refund me if I was to try and return it now. As it currently stands, I am unable to install the program on my PC if I wish to use the PC on the internet.
