Outlook Crash

I am running Windows XP home edition, BD Internet security 2009 and MS Outlook as my e-mail client. Recently Outlook will crash while downloading e-mail and I get an error window from BD referring me to a .dmp file. I tried live chat but an e-mail ticket was created to address the problem. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Hi there,

    First, I was not able to find the email you sent to the support team, probably you used another email address than the one you use on the forum. If you tell me that address we will continue on the email ticket so that we can properly investigate this. Until then, this is what I recommend:

    1. Disable any other add-ons in your Outlook client except the BitDefender one. Go to View->Toolbars->Customize->Toolbars. If this works, enable them back one by one and let me know which one is responsible so that we can test this.

    2. Go to Start->Run.

    Type

    regsvr32 -u "%ProgramFiles%\BitDefender\BitDefender 2009\bdo.dll"

    Enter

    and then type

    regsvr32 "%ProgramFiles%\BitDefender\BitDefender 2009\bdo.dll"

    Enter

    3. Post a screenshot of the error message you receive, if the above fail.

    Thanks,

    Florin
