Bitdefender Internet Security 2009 Update Time Interval

I'm so annoying that no matter how long the update time interval set, it still automatic update every 1 hour.

I have test it by making the automatic update to ask me when downloading update file.

It making my pc always lag for the update moment, and I have to disable the automatic update to avoid it.

Please find a solution for it, thanks.

Hi there,

Are you using Vista? And if so, is UAC turned on? After you make the changes, do you hit Apply? Do the changes stick?

Here is a way to probably solve the issue:

1. Reboot the PC in Safe Mode.

2. Browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitDefender\BitDefender Update Service

3. Open the file v_live_s.xml with a text editor like Wordpad.

4. Set the Value of ID_AUTOMATIC_INTERVAL" value="1" to the number of hours you want it to update.

5. Save the file.

6. Reboot the PC in Normal Mode.

7. Check if the issue still occurs.
