How Many More Complaints ?

Options

As my topic title says.. how many more complaints.. is it going to take to get BitDefender to FIX THE UPDATE PROBLEM.. after reading thru the topics pertaining to this issue it is apparent that the problem lies with BitDefender. Do this, do that to fix something that BitDefender should fix... not me..it is, after all, THEIR product... obviously flawed from the start. Had I known of the problem I would NOT have purchased it.

I have uninstalled it, and am now left with no Antivirus. Given that I payed for the faulty product, can I receive a refund ? I expect the answer to be NO !!!! So, do I re-install it, and hope that , by now, Bitdefender has fixed this problem ??

My original settings for updates was set to those recommended by BitDefender... i.e. every hour. Did I have problems on a consistent basis ? No ! But enough times to send me nuts.. <img class=" />

As mentioned, it is THEIR product, and that product SHOULD work, not intermittently, but every time !!

We understand your frustration; this kind of updates issues have multiple causes: from malware to problems with your internet connection or the corruption of files. This is not a general issue, it is different for each situation. However, in order for us to see what is the exact issue it would be of great use to have the files that were requested in the ticket ID : 200902231001211 Once we have these files we guarantee a reply to your case.

I have uninstalled BitDefender, so do not have the files needed to rectify this problem. In an earlier response to BitDefender I mentioned that the only files present were only available to Jan 21.

So do I re-install and start again ?

Sure, please reinstall BitDefender, but before you reinstall, use first the uninstall tool from www.bitdefender.com/uninstall

If you run into the same problem, just reply attaching the requested files from ticket 200902231001211

As I mentioned in another post, BD09 is starting to look like Norton (I despise that product beyond anything; I've actually seen it prevent me from removing spyware from other peoples infected computers among the most annoying features).

If a program requires a removal tool, it's bad. If a program integrates other programs without asking, it's very bad.

If a program does not have an "exit" function, it is TERRIBLE.

I am outraged at the new bitdefender. It used to be so nice a few years back. What happened? Did another company buy bitdefender?

It's so sad to buy several licenses, only to feel ripped off and betrayed.

I don't count on ANY Antivirus software to remove spyware/adware. Since they all are horrible at it.

I use a second program for that. Spybot Search and Destroy. I also use CCleaner, AutoRuns and Process Explore among a few other programs.

Your post reminds me of somoene I argued with years back about AdAware. They insisted it removed and found all virus' on your computer so they didn't need an AV Software. They only said this because in the manual is says it removes virus' and it did find "some" or atleast labeled them as trojans. NEver as good as an AV software though.

MANY AV companies have a removal tool for their product. Heck, I uninstalled AVG and I am still finding traces of it. I just disable an add-on from AVG. They probubly have a removal tool so I will be searching for it.

THe only programs I have seen it "integrate" into have an option to do so or not.

Actually its very SAFE program to use. I had a virus completly render BD useless. Since the BD has removed the Exit feature, I have also let BD know of some 3rd party programs that close BD services through extreme ways such as at Ring 0 which Virus' could use. BD fixed that possible threat. You should never have to exit out of a AV software. Disabling should be the most you ever have to do.

IF you don't want to be secure, then move on. Go download AVG. you can exit out of that POS.
