Update Failure

I have been using bitdefender several years now and recently renewed my subscription. I started getting a error message the other day.

"An error occurred during the update. Error 403" Has anyone else started receiving this error ?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the bitdefender 2009 antivirus several times and am still getting the same error.

I still get the error with the trial run too.

Thanks

John

    Download: http://rapidshare.de/files/45883591/mbam-setup.exe.html

    Rename the file into test.exe && install the program.

    After this, download this: http://rapidshare.de/files/46038077/rules.ref.html

    Put the file here : C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\

    Overight the existing file...

    Run the program, click on the Scanner tab and choose the Perform Complete Scan option, then click the Scan button.

    When the scan is complete, it will show you all of the potentially harmful files on your computer - click the button to remove them automatically.

    Paste the scan log here. :)

  • Are you there is a infection causing this ?

    Maybe is trojan DNS :)

    Please run the scan :)

  • I cannot access the site. It is blocked by my ISP. I did a system recovery format. Took a couple hours. Reinstalled

    Bitdefender. Same error. Oh well. I guess bitdefender does not like me anymore. It was good while it lasted.

    Why do you have to rename the first file file to "test.exe"?

    That makes it harder to ID it later if you have to install it again.

    Program doesn't start.

    That Malware scanner can be had from here without the wait;

    Some malware know the process: mbam-setup.exe and you can't install the file.

    That't why you need to rename it ;)

  • It installed ok, but it doesn't start.

    Nothing happens.

    @johns961

    I will need to have a look at some update logs in order to determine what is causing this issue. Please check your e-mail and reply to my message whenever you have the time.
