Deep System Scan Stuck!

Ever since I updated to Bitdefender 2009, I cannot complete a Deep System Scan.....it gets stuck at "C:\System Volume Information\MountPointManagerRemoteDatabase" and runs for 24 hours....or until I kill it.


Any suggestions? :huh:

    I encountered a similar issue when i updated my XP operating system to SP 3 ,one year ago.At the moment of the update my system restore was turned off, but the SP 3 installation routine generated a system restore point and this somehow messed up the folder you are talking about.At that moment i was using BD 2008, that was getting stuck at the same kind of folder ,when running DeepScan.


    The solution is to Turn OFF the System Restore and enter in SafeMode where you need to OWN the folder (Folder Options->Simple File Sharing->Change the policies) then to delete it.Or use a tool that deletes such folders.


    Any antivirus that will scan that location will get stuck.
