Bitdefender - Slow Slow Slow...
I recently got myself BitDefender, because several online tests placed it among the top 5 firewall/anti-virus/anti-spyware applications out there.
Naturally, being the sucker for apparently objective tests that I am, I hurried up and bought BitDefender because I happened to be looking for new protection for my computer.
Alas! While BitDefender may indeed be a good program at what it is supposed to do, it is also a little bit too good at doing what it ISN'T supposed to do: namely slowing my entire system down to a near halt, where opening an email takes up to 20 seconds each time. It also has a strange habit of blocking programs, which it considers to be 'suspicious' or malware - such as the exe for my HP printer etc...
So now I have decided, with some sadness because BitDefender isn't exactly freeware, to uninstall it from my system. And boy, do I notice the difference.
Now my computer seems all perky and enthusiastic again - opening my emails promptly and without delay, displaying websites in the blink of an eye and basically perfoming like it should.
So for you BitDefender programmers who may read this: I think your program is cool. It has many cool features (such as messenger encryption, which I thought was just neat), but as long as it is severely stalling and preventing my computer from performing the tasks I need it for, I have to choose not to use your program.
Which is a bust for me, because I paid for the ###### thing.

Hi as u have not said anything about what type of pc u have or the errors I would not expect any help. Yes new antivirus programs today scan web pages and your email before u open them so on older pc's this may slow them down a bit but you are protected also a slower internet connection will slow the process down. As i say again do not expect to run all the new software on a older pc and still have it perform. We all think you have a 486 but since you cant give sytem specs oh well. And yes it will block a exe if that exe is infected and delete all your trojan keygens also.
