What do you mean BitDefender removed it from BD2009? That obviously not true. Please give some details.

you could reinstall BIS 2009. This should solve your problem. Some files are probably missing from your BIS that have caused this problem.
The problem you have mentioned could happen, if you have run a registry cleaner software and deleted BD keys by mistake.

I have reinstalled BD but to no avail. I have not run any registry cleaner. BD tech support has not responded to my query. My posts here are being removed. Why?0 -

BD has not removed the real-time protection for virus. The problem you have mentioned could occur if the necessary BD files are missing.
Uninstall using the BD's own software, available here.0 -
