Help With Citrix Configuration

does anyone know how to configure the bitdefender firewall to allow citrix applications to start?

I can connect to the citrix server through a browser but I can't launch any of the applications.... nothing in the log either... I've tried creating some custom rules for the local citrix client executables and I tried adding a trusted zone for the citrix server IP.... nothing...

anybody know the how to?.... this worked with Macafee but I'm new to bitdefender

Comments

  • no luck.... created the rules and moved them to the first in the list, also tried creating a trusted zone of the citrix server IP, the logs show no blocks or errors but the applications still don't launch...

  • Did you check the option Increased log verbosity, under the Activity tab (Firewall section) in BitDefender? If not, please do so, try again to connect, and check the log again.

Does the application work if you disable BitDefender Firewall from BD's interface?

First, I have removed BitDefender's firewall, it freezed my comuter every several minutes (I am far from be alone with this issue). Don't just disable it, it will not be enough, you have to disable BitDefender's NDIS driver. /index.php?/topic/13301-bd-internet-security-2009-freezes-my-pc-pls-help33/#comment-57145" rel="">BitDefender's firewall freezes PCs

If you used to run Citrix applications from Firefox then you also have to uninstall "BitDefender antifishing toolbar". I just have posted a new issue to BitDefender's support team, please see the text below.

BitDefender antifishing toolbar 2.0 for Firefox disables execution of Citrix applications through SSL connection.

I was able to login on my corporate Citrix server, but couldn't start any previously available to me Citrix application. Double-click didn't do anything, no warnings, no log records, application just don't start.

After I have disabled "BitDefender antifishing toolbar" in Firefox I again can start Citrix applications. Yes, I tried white list in yours antifishing toolbar - it doesn't help.

It is a second product from Bitdefender Internet Security Suite 2009 that I had to uninstall to be able to do my job, and that again has cost me a couple of hours of my time.

I am really pity that I have switched from Kaspersky.

  • Just to add more info: I have disabled BitDefendef antiphishing tool only in Firefox 3, I can run Citrix applications from IE 7 connection even with installed BitDefender antifishing toolbar.

Under Internet Explorer 7 You may need to disable in Internet Options->Advanced an option "Do not save encrypted pages to disk", then Citrix application works as expected.
